Designer notes:

Inspired by workwear and uniforms of the early 1900's, our goal with this design was to recreate an elevated version of pants from a bygone era by keeping traditional elements while adding some contemporary changes to the silhouette and construction.

 

Material and Hardware notes: 

Each cowhide patch was hand cut from a single hide and will vary in size, color and texture, no two patches will be the same. Hair on hide may shed.

These trousers are equipped with faithful reproduction hardware that would be used in the early 20th century. Using untreated iron for the buttons and buckle as well as using copper for the rivets and burrs will allow these parts to age over time depending on the individual’s environment and use. Rusting and oxidation may occur.

The fabric is dyed, woven and finished in Japan. Traditional rope dyeing methods create a vibrant and rich color which will fade beautifully over time. Using vintage power looms, the fabric is woven at 1/10th to 1/20th the speed of modern looms. This slow process along with loom chatter produces beautiful irregularities in the cotton yarns making each yard of fabric unique. Like a fingerprint, no two pairs of trousers will be the same.

Care notes:

Trousers may be stiff and will need a "break in" period as they are fully "raw" and will soften as you wear. 

Please use caution when wearing with light colored tops, shoes, or around furniture etc. as the pigment of the denim may bleed during the break in period.

 

Fit notes:

These trousers are designed to fit slightly loose to compensate for future wash shrinkage. If you are in between sizes please size up. If you prefer a baggy/oversized fit please size up. Refer to our size chart for more details.
